Host a camp
Bring the Hip Hop
Architecture Camp
to your city.
42 cities
since 2016
We turn hip hop into architecture, and give young people a new way to see themselves in design, their communities, and the built environment.
The experience
More than a camp.
Architecture you can
see. Hear. Feel.
The Hip Hop Architecture Camp uses the culture young people already know to introduce them to architecture, design, and the power they have to shape the places around them.
Through a culturally relevant, hands-on design experience, students move from ideas and storytelling to making, designing, presenting, and seeing themselves as part of the future of the design profession.

Built around your community
Three ways to bring the experience
to your community.
Every engagement is shaped around the community hosting it. Choose the experience that best fits your goals, and we’ll work with you to develop the right scope for your students, partners, and city.

We bring the camp to life
Hip hop, architecture, design, young people, professionals, and community come together in one culturally relevant design experience.
The model
A shared
investment in access.
Host organizations contribute toward the cost of delivering each Hip Hop Architecture Camp experience. Every engagement is customized based on its location, duration, enrollment, and program scope.
As a nonprofit organization, Hip Hop By Design also relies on philanthropic support to expand access beyond individual camp engagements, helping us provide scholarships, create paid internship opportunities, support students, grow into new communities, and bring design education to young people regardless of their community’s ability to fully fund a program.
Help us bring the experience to their community.
Help us expand who gets access to it, and how far that impact can reach.
Bring the camp to your community.
Tell us where you are, who you want to reach, and what you hope to make possible. We’ll take it from there.
